Notes from the past: Spaces unoccupied.1

A study from last week, drawn from memory, which now would be the only possible way.

A moment that simultaneously feels like a year ago and right now. I should be able to walk up a few stairs and see it still but I can't. The notes refer to my gallery job, I should have been working but I was thinking of her. I'm still thinking of her.

Some older work - The Portugal Man

At the moment I am busy working on a couple of commissioned portraits, and thought in the meanwhile I would show some older work while new pieces and writing are on the way. The following two pictures are derived from photographs of the prolific, yet unpublished, Bedford songwriter Christian Webb. The 'Portugal Man' of the title refers to one of his self produced album of the same title.

I am always looking for new models for my portrait classes so please get in contact if you are free on Tuesday or Friday mornings in the Bedford area.

I am hoping to add some Saturday workshops as taster or development sessions during March as well as a Summer school and a Wednesday evening Figure drawing class that would alternate between clothed and nude models.
